Internship Program

  • Internship Program

    The Internship Program at the Center for Advising and Career Development provides comprehensive career counseling and services to help students integrate educational experiences with internships in the government, business, industry and non-profit sectors. The program is free for participants.

    The program is also a resource to employers and WSU faculty/staff. The program assists employers with creating internship programs, recruiting for interns, and connecting with faculty/staff and students.  It provides faculty/staff assistance regarding internship concerns and issues.

    Requirements for Student Eligibility

    • Must be a WSU student
    • Must have an e-mail address

     

    Steps for Students

    1. Register and submit a resume with CareerLink
    2. Meet with a career counselor at drop-in hours, a workshop, or an individual appointment for:
      • Information about the program
      • Exploration of interests, skills, and values to determine the type of internship to pursue
      • Guidance on search strategies and developing your own internship
      • Feedback on cover letters, resumes, and interviewing
    3. Conduct on-campus interviews
    4. Check internship listings each week and apply for opportunities
    5. Participate in career fair events and follow up with employers of interest
    6. Utilize resources to create your own internship if desired.
    7. Report your offers
